Victoria Sponge

"Gorge'us! is a fabulous and popular little place in the 'burbs, run by a small team and whose proprietor, Ceri, is a self-taught baker (just like me!) who has won numerous awards. Her passion and enthusiasm is evident in the food, from the delicious hip-expanding cakes which have a retro feel (she does all the classics: lemon cake, Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut, chocolate or carrot cake, crunchy and chewy flapjacks, gooey squishy brownies) to the simple yet sophisticated lunches like sandwiches served with a side of coleslaw, salad and crisps (just like Sue does in Silver Strand down in Saundersfoot!)."
